Another one of my favourite Kpop groups today, but this song is in Japanese. I still miss Wonho.
The song starts with piano, clicking and Kihyun's vocals, before adding percussion behind Shownu's vocals. The song feels perfect for spring, especially with all the pastel tones in the music video. As soon as the intro of the song starts it hits that this is going to be a sad song. It is so beautiful, the harmony, the marriage of the instruments, all of their voices. I do like a lot of Monsta X's music, but their ballads are what really made me love them. I also like that the song starts with Kihyun and Shownu and it also ends with them. It's almost like a cycle in your life coming to completion. The instruments used really highlight their voices. I don't know why Jooheon's voice really reminds me of Tablo in this song, I love his style of rapping.
The lyrics are going to hit those emotional chords in you. To me the song gives me break up vibes. But it could also relate to friends or family leaving. Though even though you have to leave there will always be something keeping you together such as memories. Even if you can't be with that person you will still love them '季節が何度巡っても そばにいれなくても 愛してるよ' ( Even if the seasons change. Even if you weren't there for me I still love you). It also talks about how the memories make 君らしい すべてがあたたかい (Everything is warm), making me think there are no hard feelings and perhaps neither wanted the break up to happen. Especially when they sing ' This is not goodbye'. The lyrics also talk about how they should both learn to grow and they will support the person, and they know they will see each other again. Wish on the same sky かけがえない絆 (our irreplaceable bond).
I hope you all enjoyed this piece, I would love to know your interpretation of the song. Thank you for reading and I hope the translations are right x
