Answer - ATEEZ

GothMoth

Okay before I say anything..... This song is one of my favourites.

I have recently been listening to a lot of 2nd Generation Kpop again. But this song brought me back to present Kpop. I do love a lot of modern Kpop but recently I have been really nostalgic and wanted to listen to the music that made me a fan.

ATEEZ are probably one of my favourite groups, it can be hard being a multi-fan haha. For some reason, since listening to Answer for the first time I have not been able to get it out of my head, and I have to have it on replay. It is so good.

I appreciate that the song starts with very little instrumental and really lets you focus on the members voices. Then the beat builds up to hit you with a powerful chorus. The music video starts with a light piano before building into the beat of the actual song. I think the music really accentuates Mingi's rap, that part stands out to me so much in the song. Also the bit with Mingi and Hongjoong's rap bouncing off each other, it feels really powerful. Sans vocals are amazing. Okay, I could go on about everyone's vocals forever because I love how their voices go together so well, they are honestly so talented. But more about the music, this song feels very different but strangely familiar with their usual music, I feel like every song is fresh and different but you know it's an ATEEZ song.

The lyrics (I don't speak Korean but I did look the translation up for this). Without looking at the lyrics the song already feels very powerful and almost as if they're fighting for something. The vocals then really push this message forward as they sing with all their soul, and allows the emotion to come through. When looking at the English translation of this song the message definitely comes through. About coming together with everyone and fighting for your dreams to come true. My favourite line is '건배하자 like a thunder' (Let’s make a toast like a thunder) I'm not really sure why but it really spoke to me. But overall this song just gives so much faith to those who feel lost and scared, and lets the listener know that it will end. '외로워 괴로워 무서워 두려워 했던 지난날은 됐어' (Lonely, Painful, Scared, Afraid Those days are gone). It's very comforting, it feels like a friend saying this is okay, I have been there too and I got out. A very fitting message for the time we are currently in.

I just also want to briefly talk about their music video. It is so pretty as are all Kpop videos I've seen. I love all of their outfits, the dance, I just really appreciate their hard work. Also really want their hats at 3.44.

Thank you again for reading. It means a lot xx

P.s my bias is San
